Meet the Keynote Speaker

Benjamin Davis

Benjamin Davis is the Executive Director of the Veterans’ Outdoor Advocacy Group (VOAG), a nonprofit advancing policy, funding, and access to outdoor recreation as a pathway to improved health and well-being for America’s veterans.

Ben served nine years as a U.S. Navy SEAL, an experience that shaped his understanding of resilience, identity, and the role the outdoors plays in long-term mental and physical health.

VOAG has contributed to federal outdoor recreation policy included in the EXPLORE Act and the COMPACT Act. The organization has also advanced recommendations to Congress through the Interagency Task Force on Outdoor Recreation for Veterans, helping strengthen coordination, grant structures, and access for community-based veteran-serving outdoor programs nationwide.

In addition to his work with VOAG, Ben writes both fiction and non-fiction from his home in Golden, CO. His work can be found in publications such as The Alpinist and Lethal Minds Journal, where he explores themes of transition, identity, and purpose beyond uniform.
